ORIGINAL SOUGHT AFTER 70's MOBILE FIDELITY SOUND LAB SUPER SONICS PRESSING of the great 1968 MOODY BLUES album, featuring their timeless smash hits "TUESDAY AFTERMOON and NIGHTS IN WHITE SATIN ...Chances are you never experienced the immaculate wide range sound optics involved here....

The Moody Blues were initially a somewhat gritty British Invasion outfit who had scored a UK chart-topper with their second single "Go Now", the Moody Blues soon transformed into arguably the first progressive rock band at the popular level. The Moody Blues' second album "Days Of Future Passed" was also their first of what would be a succession of "concept" albums. Inspired by the Beatles' Sgt. Pepper and utilizing the London Festival Orchestra primarily for epic instrumental interludes between songs, Days of Future Passed moved the Birmingham band into uncharted rock territory, making them the early pioneers of both classical and progressive rock. The concept of the 1967 release was very simple, tracing a day in the life from dawn to night, from awakening to sleep. The seven tracks spawned two hit singles--"Tuesday Afternoon" and "Nights in White Satin" (which hit No. 2 four years after the LP's original release) and a progressive-rock cottage industry...

"The day begins" starts this album and shows in a symphonic introduction all the melodies that will be later heard in the album. "Dawn" is a dark mellow track that melds pop and classical music. The male vocalist is very talented and he sings in beautiful melodies. "Morning" is an upbeat track with a happy and extremely catchy melody played with string instruments." Lunch" is a fast tempo track with great vocal harmonies. "Afternoon" is a highlight, which shows that a song doesn't have to be complex in order to love it. It has great mellotron work, simple, yet effective percussion, and soaring vocals. "Evening" has excellent acoustic guitar work, driving rhythms, and a great chorus, and is separated into three different sections. This is the song that sound closest to the Beatles. "Night in White Satin" is easily the strongest Moody Blues track, and many fans favorite Moody Blues ballad of all times. It is perfect and accessible. Its lyrics tell of unrequited love making this song melancholic. The verses have great melodies backed by a mellotron, and the choruses of 'I love you!" are some of the best choruses ever! The instrumental break is gorgeous with a flute solo and the album ends in the same way it started ...
