Description

PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question.   OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. Because of that dedication, there should be no need to open a resolution dispute before working with us.  Please keep in mind, we would prefer to continue to provide you the opportunity to acquire the rare music we present each and every week.   Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable.  We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over (+) 20,000 positive feedback.   We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. Thank you for your interest and support.   ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SHIPPING:   USA ~ 1 LP = $4.00 Media Priority rates vary by area; please inquire.   All Canadian and Overseas shipping ~ Please inquire about rates. • "made in England" ~ HARVEST RECORDS - SHVL 762

    Original 1969 FINAL COLLECTION COPY!!!!

  • Very rare, highly essential ... an early UK-HARVEST records release...

  • Previously known as The Bakerloo Blues Line,
  • the British based Bakerloo originally formed in the mid-sixties with a line up comprising Dave 'Clem' Clempson (guitar, vocals), Terry Poole (vocals, bass) and Keith Baker (drums).

One of the first acts signed to the fledgling Harvest label in 1969, Bakerloo the first and only album, were on the same path as CREAM and early Led Zeppelin, late BLUES-BOOM masters of power-rock trio filled with tightly impressing guitar , bass & drums jamming ... NO USA RELEASE minimized Bakerloo to being boxed-into a local UK product, though should have attained global attention with a better fate...
  • BAKERLOO were very much a hard-hitting heavy-blues trio featuring positively dazzling flashes of bombastic instrumentation prowess.

Bakerloo were not long for this earth, due to poor management promotion, super guitarist, Clem Clempson quit to join the highly popular British progressive band, Colosseum ,  shortly after BAKERLOO album's release. The band fractured, bassist Terry Poole appeared alongside the famous Graham Bond band, then drummer Keith Baker scrambled for Uriah Heep --  Bakerloo itself disappeared

  • BAKERLOO ~ 1969 :

  •    Guitarist Dave Clempson's "Big Bear Folly," the opening cut on the band's first and only album, is a dazzling Ten Years After-style peak showcase, while difficult complex rhythms in variation on a theme of Bach, the aptly titled "Driving Bachwards," proves that the band wasn't averse to messing with the classics, either. The quartet's virtuosity occasionally overwhelms the songs themselves, although there is no shortage of gripping atmosphere. Bassist Terry Poole unleashes an almost sepulchral vocal across the intense "Last Blues," a seven-minute marathon that swiftly develops into a full-fledged heavy rocker, punctuated by mood shifts that amount to separate movements -- it's a magnificent piece, rendered with both musical precision and some of producer Gus Dudgeon's most inspired washes and effects. Impressive, too, is "Son of Moonshine," a distorted HEAVY effort that clocks in at double that length and combines Clempson's intensive guitar soloing with a desperately driving blues rhythm.
  • 1969-era comparisons with Cream and early Led Zeppelin really weren't that far off the mark

  • Dave 'Clem' Clempson / guitars, vocals
    - Terry Poole / bass guitar
    - Keith Baker / drums
