Description

Arturo Toscanini conducts Rossini's William Tell Overture on 1949 RCA Red Seal 2 78rpm album DM 605. This is by many people's estimation Toscanini's "golden era", and this is one of his classic recordings. The later versions he did never had the same gusto as this one. Anyhow this copy is the best you will ever see. Almost absolutely perfect mint, with just a touch of shelfwear and signs of having been played maybe once or twice. But really this copy looks essentially untouched for all these years, still even having the original paper padding that protects the records. The discs are essentially like new, and the cover has only the slightest edgewear, but almost like new as well. I have rarely seen any record from this time in such condition. Beautiful.
