Description

With Toshiko on piano and husband Charlie on Alto Sax, the Mariano's began an extensive recording and performing career in 1959.  They didn't copy anyone else's style.  They toured the world with back-up from Gene Cherico on bass and Eddie Marshall on drums.  As you know, Jazz takes a theme, explains it, explores it, improvises it, plays with it and literally nurtures it to grow into more than itself. John Lennon often said "Tune it, turn on and change it."  This very talented quartet really does that. Very few quartets or quintets can entrance an audience for an extended period of time, which is why most records offer ten to twelve pieces of music.  This album is a full LP but there are only 5 cuts of music!  "Little T" lasts for 13 minutes and I guarantee,  you will not be bored a bit.  Enjoy one of the greatest jazz quartets in history!
