EXTREMELY RARE AUTOGRAPH of the LEGENDARY SINGER-SONGWRITER, TOWNES VAN ZANDT The late, great, highly influential alt-country artist melded folk and blues influences into his very personal, beautifully poetic, witty songs.
He died in 1997 at age 52.
This item is a SIGNED LP, "At My Window," in addition to his signature, Townes has written the date, 10/24/87.
This Autographed, vinyl LP was purchased at auction from the prestigious auctioneers, Ewbank's, of England.
The album cover has slight discoloration and a number of creases, most notable at the right bottom corner. The signature is in ink.
The record itself seems to be near-mint, but I haven't played it and can't attest to its condition. The value of this rare piece is in the autograph. It's a very difficult signature to obtain.
In 2009, a pair of signed Townes Van Zandt record albums went for $1,375 USD at a Christie's auction.
