The album starts out with an extremely hellish, evil intro, as if it was an intro to an old black metal demo, only the quality doesn't sound cheap and low. It's a completely dark intro, completely filled with the sounds of Hell and darkness. Towards the end of the intro, you hear a savage voice that screams "EVIL NEVER DIES!" Then the album moves on from the hellish intro into the fast-paced, adrenaline-filled songs of this album.

The album was recorded in Joel Grind's bedroom….with Joel Grind recording, writing, and playing everything; guitars, bass, vocals, drums, lyrics, and songwriting. Joel Grind pretty much did everything except distributing his material, and he was the only official member of the band for its first nine years. He did an excellent job with just himself producing everything. For an album that was recorded by one guy in his bedroom, this sounds amazing!

The style of the songs that are heard on Evil Never Dies sound like a three-way mix of crust punk, thrash metal, and black metal. The black metal influence is not necessarily the Norwegian black metal sound, but it sounds more like bands from the first wave of black metal (E.g Bathory, Hellhammer, early Celtic Frost). The Bathory influences are easily heard on this album. The album features punk and thrashing songs with an extremely fierce, satanic, growling vocal style. The lyrics include topics war, destruction, Anti-christianity, and death that can be understood when growled and roared out by the evil Joel Grind. Song highlights are War Is Hell (which is one of the best songs Joel ever wrote), 666, Enemy Of Jesus, Exxxecutioner, Atomik Destruktor, and Damned To Fire.

There's barely anything wrong with the album and there's definitely nothing shitty about it. There are a few flaws though. One of them being the guitar solos and drumming. There's absolutely nothing special about it. It's not a major flaw, since the extremely catchy riffs, guitar sound, amazing cover artwork, and vocals are awesome already. But the solos aren't that creative. A non-professional guitar player could probably shred the solos of this album, and the drums are pretty basic and not so interesting either. The second flaw would be that there's not much variety in the songs. Each song is about the same length with the same tempos for almost every song, which makes it sound boring after twenty minutes.

Overall, this album is totally one smashing masterpiece and definitely recommended to any old school metal fan. If you like the old school sound of crust punk, early black metal, and thrash metal, then this is one album for you.
