This was one of many records owned and cherished by my late father, I have commenced the sale of his masterpiece collection. He attended UCL London from 1968-1974 and was an able gifted man studying maths and computer science. He also ran the societies club and arranged gigs etc. He recently sung and performed acoustic guitar alongside Julie Felix of folk acclaim before sadly passing too soon. See below associated links.

This item for sale is the Original 1970 FIRST pressing,orange dawn labels. EX shiny glossy exceptional quality record when examined under bright lighting. Includes original gatefold cover in very good condition which alone is a hard find (NO splits,NO tears,only small writings as pictured..)..see all pictures for an idea. Only noted flaw is the slight creasing to far corner edge - see penultimate picture.
My father would have bought it NEW, played it only a few times and stored it away….I’m quite confident to say that this is a rare opportunity to buy such a pristine and copy…If it doesn’t sell for the listing price now it will be put in a later auction and I know someone will eventually buy it.
My father was absolutely meticulous in his handling of records, and taught me everything I know about caring for and storing them. It is just that this style of music is not up my street, I prefer more electronic dance music etc, hence the upcoming sales of many 1965-1975 records in the coming months. 
Cover: original 1969 gatefold VG condition .. the spine is clean  and nice with ALL the  text visible on it (see picture)…inside and outside shows only fades/wear in line with age VERY insignificant of course. NO real signs of use at all ....no rips,tears,splits or any other damages etc. ONLY FLAW is really the small writing (my late father's name in top left of inner gatefold) as pictured DOES NOT obscure imagery. This would have been done to stop his records being stolen when at university in london in 1970.
Record: visual:   superb clean EX close NEAR MINT- with few EXTREMELY LIGHT MICROSCOPIC hairlines…...it still retains it’s beautiful original sheen and it looks VERY NEAR NEW. The digital camera pictures I took only show light dust, one wipe/off static and all gone to a crisp new shine on the actual surface of the vinyl itself - exceptional quality piece beyond any shadow of a doubt, and I will tell you I am fussy! 
labels:   AS CLEAN AS THEY COULD BE  with few LIGHT and SMALL spindle hole marks. very first pressing .. no tears,stamps or any other damages...again, see pictures. the name 'paul gunningham' is etched faintly under lighting alongside the DNLS.3004 matrix number on one side - not noticeable unless fully scrutinised

Label Conditions: Both very clean, fresh and attractive with very few spindle marks on sides. All evidence, including very impressive sound, points to a copy played very little.

Cat Number: DNLS 3004.

Mode / Speed: Stereo / 33.3 rpm.

Warps: Assume all records I offer have no warping of any significance and all tracking is easy and effortless and should play on all turntables and even ‘budget’ decks.

Weight of this Record: 150 grams. A typical heavy pressing for the first Dawn issues.

Rarity & Info: Rare: and much rarer than even the price guides suggest. This is a genuine ‘lost’ acid-folk-psych classic, it sold very poorly indeed and almost sank without trace. It’s almost unique and features the wonderful Judy Dyble who featured on the Fairport Convention debut album. Comparing this to her previous vinyl appearance makes the Fairport album seem common in comparison. This set is in very fine condition, and as many collectors will already know, Dawn Records were notoriously variable in pressing quality, many noisy and poorly cut. This copy has one fairly small mark that emits a couple of light ticks but little else. It is the cleanest pressing I have yet heard and devoid of any inherent pressing noises or distortions. Some of the problems could be due to the album being a little too long for vinyl, this clocks in at around 47 minutes or so, the grooves are a little compressed which makes tracking the information more difficult. But all the vocals and music are clear and defined with no clipping or stressing to the more difficult parts and the general lack of crackle and background sounds makes a refreshing change. I am sure this copy has not been played much at all, just the one small mark that is practically superficial anyway, is not bad for a fragile record now 43-years-old. There are no hidden nasties and this intolerant record is a genuine joy to listen-too. The cover has a creasing water-marking near the bottom left corner of the front, but that apart, equally fine. A ‘lost’ folk-psych classic now surfaced again to be enjoyed near it’s very (rare) best.

Brief Info: An absolute classic within the folk-psych genre with haunting beauty from former Fairport Convention vocalist Judy Dyble and Irish multi-instrumentalist Jackie McAuley, formerly of Them. This was a one-off album, that in a fair world, should have sold well, but it went practically unnoticed and was confined to the ‘lost’ vaults of history and was almost immediately deleted. A true diamond and precious record with tales of Olde England with a child-like charm to the songs, it will no doubt appeal to early Fairport and Donovan fans circa ‘HMS Donovan’. With use of unusual instruments blended with superb Dyble vocals, this has a psychedelic edge to the production with a genuine innocence to the material. This is an absolute delight and gets better with every listen. Such a shame the pressing quality often lets it down. Dawn, a subsidiary of the normally reliable Pye, were no Decca. Pressing noises and distortion are often rife on this album and seldom will a clean example be offered or heard. Well this one has no such pressing flaws, the one small mark has a couple of brief light clicks, any others are the odd sporadic tick and all the music is sharp, precise and clear. No vocal break-up or loss of focus and any surface sound minuscule in comparison to some Dawn albums I have heard. A rare album in numbers made or sold, rarer still that will offer enjoyable sound. The odd minor blemish is quite possibly the best anyone could hope for. The cover is attractive with lovely artwork, as stated above, a press mark is seen on the front and a little gentle creasing, but little detracts and is a work-of-art in it’s own right. So overall, a very impressive example – not quite for the perfectionist, but most collectors should enjoy this.

JUST FYI ALL, I HAVE SINCE PLAYED MANY TRACKS THROUGH ON THIS AND HAVE 320kbps MP3 rips. LOVELY QUALITY :-) kind of sad to part with such a classic piece however my dad would want it to go to an avid collector , only certain items I am keeping e.g. cream disraeli gears as love this one :-)
