On the Matt PINK ISLAND RECORDS Label  ILP 961 from 1967. The very rare MONO pressing! Traffic's first and rarest LP. This is the best copy I have ever come across and I have seen quite a few in my 30 years of collecting rare vinyl!!

"Traffic is one of my all-time favourite bands. They were a progressive, psychedelic, blues band with a terrific vibe. Their music was smooth and would certainly evolve as time went by. They were all great musicians and very talented dudes indeed. They were almost interchangeable on their instruments. This lp is a psychedelic giant and Mr Fantasy is as pure a psychedelic tune as ever was laid down. Great album!

 Here was a VERY talented young band with 'pedigree', making innovative new sounds for a FANTASTIC resulting psych LP. Steve Winwood still plays now and proves his wonderful ability as a guitarist, keyboard player and singer - and this historic issue heralded his confident dexterity, as a landmark following his departure from the outstanding Spencer Davis Group.  Nice to find this original issue in such outrageous great condition, these really must be EXTREMELY few and far between - mind-blowing in every respect! The title track is a psych classic if there ever was one!

Vinyl: EX+.  This record is one of the best I have seen for this ultra rare first mono issue. A superb heavy slab of vinyl with an unbelievable glossy sheen usually only seen on new records! It has just one wispy hairline which on replay cannot be heard at all. The record plays through phenomenally well with barely any background noise. It has a fantastic loud clarity and it is clear that it has been looked after and stored properly. Now 54 years old this is a great opportunity to acquire this rarity.  It is also great to find that the record plays as STUNNINGLY as the visual with NO pops, NO sticking, NO jumps, barely ANY crackle AT ALL, and only some absolutely MEGA low level background sound on the run in grooves & gaps between tracks - NOT in the music AT ALL!!!!  The sound quality is simply SUPERB with NO groove wear and NO distortion either!!!!  

  Gatefold Sleeve: VG++ .  This sleeve is notorious for extensive wear and damage. This copy is the best that I have ever come across.  The vinyl is inserted from the centre gatefold which weakens the centre fold corners from the inside. There is light corner wear and there are a few minor creases near the edges but other than that the sleeve has nothing untoward at all. NO tears, NO sticker damage, NO writing etc. the spine is fully legible. All lamination is intact but there is wear on the corners of the spine. THIS LP IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND LIKE THIS - SO DONT MISS OUT ON THIS INCREDIBLE OPPORTUNITY!!!!
