MEGARARE and HARD-TO-FIND original MAG Records very first Stereo press released by MAG Records, made and distributed in Peru in 1969 by SICA Peruana S.A., catalog number MG-2797, with hand etched matrix numbers FAIR-MG-10008-VC in Side A and FAIR-MG-10009-VC in Side B, with traditional black/silver MAG Records labels and big hole, with colored “MAG” logo and white “45 RPM”. Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile!!!

“You Got Me Floating” was the third single by Peruvian Psych/Prog Rock band Traffic Sound, now considered one of the best Latin American Psych/Prog Rock bands and whose records appear in Pokora’s books as worldwide rarities. And this is the original third single of the band released in Peru in 1967, with both songs sung in English. Song titles are written in Spanish only, with only “D.R.” as credits for both songs and the registry number of the records in Peru (“1267”). About “D.R.”, it’s the Spanish abbreviation of “all rights reserved”, something a bit weird considering the songwriters are very known, because song “You Got Me Floating” is a cover of “You've Got Me Floating”, written by Jimi Hendrix and originally released in LP “Axis: Bold As Love” by The Jimi Hendrix Experience, and “Sueño” (“Dream” in Spanish) is a cover of “Sueno”, written by Felix Cavalieri and Eddie Brigati and originally released by The Young Rascals in 1967. So, here you have the chance to get and own this MEGARARE ORIGINAL PERUVIAN PRESS of this single by Peruvian band Traffic Sound, with covers of songs by Jimi Hendrix and The Young Rascals, a record rarely seen and only auctioned here in eBay a handful of times. WOW!!! A MUST TO HAVE for all fans, lovers and collectors of Traffic Sound, Latin American Psych/Prog music or even Jimi Hendrix and The Young Rascals!!!

This record doesn’t have a cover. The record is in VG- or VG condition both sides, still glossy and clean, but with loads and loads of scuffs, hairlines and light scratches, which don’t affect play at all. Labels on both sides are in great VG- or VG condition, clean and clear, with some spindle hole wear and regular wear, with evident discoloration and some faint blemishes, but still almost fully readable. The sound is a nice surprise, it’s in strong VG or even VG+ condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, virtually no background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), with constant light crackles and occasional light clicks and pops here and there, which don’t really cause major distraction from the loud and clear sound this record still keeps from the beginning to the end. Overall, this is a great record in this MEGARARE ORIGINAL PRESS of this single by Peruvian band Traffic Sound, maybe not for the strictest Minty minds or audiophiles, but still with a nice glossy look, clean labels and still with a very decent and respectable sound quality after about 53 years, which won’t disappoint anyone and will satisfy any serious collector who knows the real level of rarity of this record!!! And keep in mind Traffic Sound is considered one of the best Latin American Psych/Prog Rock bands of all times, whose records appear in Pokora’s book, which also gives you an idea of the real level of rarity of this original Peruvian record and in this single they sing the Jimi Hendrix’s song “You’ve Got Me Floating”!!! We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
