TRAFFIC When The Eagle Flies (Island 88 334 XOT) RARE German 1st Pressing + Insert MINT
RARE German first pressing of Traffic`s grande finale release, "When The Eagle Flies" on Island Records (September 1974).
"This album is usually under-rated even by the fans of the band. It is no wonder, because Traffic split after its release and the fact that it came out after the series of excellent albums (John Barleycorn, Low Spark and Shoot Out). But, repeated listening unveils some wonderful moments, particularly the trio of "Dream Gerrard", "Graveyard People" and "Walking In The Wind", which could have fit on any of the above mentioned highlights. GRADING:
MINT(-) COVER, pretty much perfect. Please see photos for details.
- Original fully textured sleeve, as found on first pressings only.
- Also includes the original insert/lyric sheet in MINT- condition.
MINT- RECORD that has been played two or three times at most.
- Near-perfect vinyl on both sides, with impeccable audio reproduction throughout.
- A few superficial hairlines visible under strong lighting, inaudible and from sleeve removal only.
- Custom-printed matt black Island Records labels with no spindle wear whatsoever
- The matrix stamps in the run-off grooves read "S 88334 A-2" and "S 88334 B-1".
- This record is certified to be an original German first pressing of "When The Eagle Flies", released in September 1974.
