Description

Due to two pressures – lack of space and my wife, I need to have a re-organization of my record collection!!! I don’t want to do this but it will mean there will be some offers coming up in the next few months. Some great albums from the sixties right the way through to the late seventies; some classic originals, some of my duplications and some reissues. This will enable me to rebuild the collection around other albums I want in my collection.

Thank you for looking and happy bidding!

I do not use stock photos or borrow from other sites. I always take my own pictures so you can see what it is I am selling.

Cover: VG++

Vinyl: VG++

Label: Island

Catalogue No: ILPS9095

Year: 1969

This is now quite a scarce album and I think quite an underrated album. It certainly has had its critics over the years.

As far as I know this is the 1st pressing. If I am wrong on this please let me know so I can amend my description.

This late sixties group's best known song was the Winwood/Capaldi composition Pearly Queen, by virtue of its inclusion on the You Can All Join In compilation.

Micky Moody went on to enjoy greater fame as a member of Whitesnake, whilst Terry Popple went on to Snafu.

Cover:

The single sleeve laminate cover is in very good shape with no tears, creases, writing, marks or stains. The laminate has lifted in a couple of places noticably by the spine but this is due to age rather than any abuse.

There is some evidence of disc wear but little edge wear.

If there was no laminate lift I would have no hesitation in grading this an excellent cover.

Labels:

These are the very early pink Island labels (see photo) They are textured and are in excellent shape with little sign of any spindle hole wear or any spindle marks.

Matrices:

A and B along with the catalogue number

Vinyl:

There is a little hiss on the run in grooves for each side but other than that the album plays through without any jumps, sticking, skipping or scratches. It really is in great shape for its age and has been looked after. It is nice thick, heavy vinyl. I have played it today for grading purposes, the first time in many years!
