Description The acetate is in near mint condition a 10inch disc consists of an aluminum core with a black nitrocellulose lacquer, a one sided recording, comes in its original brown paper sleeve. The label states Recorded Sound Ltd, 27-31 Bryanston Street Marble Arch London W.1, with typed text (Portrait of a Highland Schoolmaster).  The acetate side 2 has no label, and with a centre hole and another centre hole offset.  This transcription acetate disc relates the story of a Highland Schoolmaster, who was a Schoolmaster at Dunan a settlement on the south shore of the sea loch, Loch Na Cairidh on the Isle of Skye Scotland, story narrated by his daughter who told the story of her late fathers experiences of 70 years earlier when she was a small child, sometime around 1880-90.  The story concerned the Scottish governments change of the education of Gaelic communities in the Highlands of Scotland, and the change for the commuities to be taught in English. Which her late father was chosen to be the schoolmaster in this small Scottish fishing village in Dunan, Isle of Skye.

I have played the disc on a good quality record deck, the sound quality is excellent.  These acetates transcription discs where made for special purposes, almost never for sale to the general public.

My grading of this acetate disc is near mint condition; with excellent audio sound quality, the one label is in excellent condition.  The Disc’s black lacquer is very shiny with very little signs of disc play.

PLEASE SEE ALL THE PHOTOS FOR MORE DETAILED INFORMATION.

I have tried to give a full and honest account of the record’s condition, should you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact me through E-Bay.  I offer a no quibbles money back guarantee for complete peace of mind.

The Record Grading

MINT:  The record itself is in brand new condition, I only grade sealed records in mint condition. The cover and any extra items are also unused in As NEW condition...

NEAR MINT:  A nearly perfect record, with only the slightest cosmetic flaw – no audible defect, Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects.

EXCELLENT:  The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality.  The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional scratch.  Labels may be marred by writing, or have tape or stickers (or their residue) attached
