INCREDIBLE ALBUM from this hard rock power trio featuring Glenn Hughes, Mel Galley and Dave Holland. Natch the music is brilliantly funky with an underlying hard rock groove - and when you think about it they weren't, in many respects, that dissimilar to Led Zeppelin. So, what you get is tight, melodic and downright funky with all the twists and turns that you might reasonably expect from such a revered unit. The musicianship is super slick and incredibly groovy with the requisite touch of biting hard rock creating a unique push-pull effect. Great tracks including the all time classics 'Black Cloud', 'Jury' (my favourite) and 'Loser' the title track. Produced by Moody Blues man John Lodge.
This auction is part of a fantastic collection of seventies rock which I was lucky enough to acquire. Most of these records were stored with the utmost care and sparsely played. Some were possibly never played or may have been for just a handful of times.
Pressing: Threshold, UK, 1970
Vinyl: Nice clean and shiny condition. Absolutely no signs of any use - no spindle marks on labels. Grades, amazingly after 50 years, as top shop fresh MINT-!
Cover: Again no signs of any use - retains full gloss. Issued in a beautifully designed gate-fold fully laminated cover - great 'creak' appeal on opening. Sharp corners , no dings, no bends, no ring wear, no split seams and no creases. Spine is stiff, square and uncrushed. Impossible to find like this after 50 years. Grades as stop MINT-!
