**THE TRASHMEN** Surfin' Bird! 1964 Mono Release On Garrett GA-200 VG+ Condition One Owner!

ALBUM COVER:  VG to VG+ (No Shrinkwrap).  Moderate shelf wear in spots, but no nasty looking wear on either side.  Scattered roughness along the edges.   Minor ding on each of the corners (worst of which is pictured), but no top, bottom or side splits or peeling about the paste ons.  No graffiti, but there is a spot on the back under the track listing of cut 2 on side two.  Back of the cover is not squeaky clean, but not horrific either.  Spine is in nice overall shape, lettering is still quite visible but a bit faint.  Colors and the hues on front of cover still bold and vivid.  Overall, cover is in pretty nice condition for a '64 model, not splendid, but quite acceptable.

INNER SLEEVE:  VG.  This is the original plain vanilla inner sleeve, no label hole (not a replacement) and is in acceptable shape.  No bottom or side splits.   Owner wrote "Surfin Bird Album" along the top edge (see photo).  Sleeve has some egregious wrinkles on the bottom corners, and is quite dingy and yellowed with age, but no tears, rips, glue separation or serious roughness about the edges.

VINYL:  VG+ Cosmetically and Audibly.   A couple of light 1" or so scratches of a cosmetic nature only on either side, and very light noticeable wear.  This record has been played a number of times, but with extreme care, and sounds really nice.  Not abused or overplayed!

LABELS:  NEAR MINT.  Both labels are in great shape, but not quite perfect.  Exceptionally clean,  some spindle wear and a few light spindle trails on side one, side two is near perfect.  No scratches, tears or graffiti on either label.

Please examine all photos carefully prior to bidding.  Most, if not all flaws noted in this description may be viewed more closely in the photo gallery.  May I stress, don't like it?  Not as nice as you'd hoped or expected?  Just let me know.  Buyer satisfaction always guaranteed and returns always accepted.  Buyer is responsible for return shipping costs.

THIS RECORD WAS GRADED AUDIBLY 'LOUD' IN MONO MODE, SO THAT ANY AND ALL NOISE POLLUTION COULD BE HEARD AND NOTED.  NO HEADPHONES GRADING!

SIDE ONE

Very light to near zero noise at entro, very light noise between tracks and in the trail off area.  Virtually no noise of a distracting nature or otherwise during playback.  Side plays through without any problems.  Excellent overall sound!.  I gave side one a grade of "A-" audibly.

SIDE TWO

Almost a carbon copy of side one.  Very light noise at entro, very light to near zero noise between tracks and very light noise in the trail off area.  Ballzy bass and outstanding overall sound.  Almost no noticeable noise anywhere during track play.  Side plays through very nicely.  I gave side two an "A-" grade audibly.  I am very strict in audible gradings.

SUMMARY:   Cosmetically, this record is overall about a 7 at worst, and is definitely collectible.   Unlike the vast majority of Trashmen used albums, this copy was not played "to death", and sounds about as clean as any '64 model used album can be.  The description and audible gradings are honest and as thorough as possible.  This album sounds super nice, but is not quite "stellar" or cd quality.  It is certainly clean enough for re-recording to another medium.  A very worthwhile investment for less than collectors' book price.
