UK FIRST PRESSING ORANGE CBS VINYL LP WITH ORIGINAL CBS INNER SLEEVE.
STAMPERS: S-63837 A1 / B1
SLEEVE: VERY GOOD MINUS. IT HAS THE FOLLOWING DEFECTS:
BOTTOM SEAM NEEDS RE-GLUEING. THERE IS SHELF, RING AND EDGE WEAR. SOME MINOR SPOTTING ON FRONT AND A GENERAL 'USED LOOK'. THE EDGES ARE SCUFFED AND HAVE A FEW CREASES. THERE IS NO WRITING OR MARKS, BUT IT IS A USED SLEEVE IN RESEPCTABLE BUT NOT GREAT CONDITION. INNER IS VERY GOOD BUT HAS SOME YELLOWING AND CREASING.
DISC: EXCELLENT MINUS. BOTH SIDES PLAY AND SOUND GREAT. THERE ARE SOME LIGHT HAIRLINES AND ONE LIGHT SCRATCH ON TRACK THREE SIDE TWO - THIS CLICKS FOR ABOUT THREE REVOLUTIONS BUT DOES NOT SKIP OR JUMP. OVERALL, THIS IS A DECENT PLAYING COPY WITH CLEAN LABELS WITH MINOR SPINDLE WEAR - CLEARLY IT HAS BEEN PLAYED AND IT IS NOT PERFECT, BUT IT IS A RESPECTABLE FIRST PRESSING. ONE THING YOU CAN BE SURE OF: IT SOUNDS VASTLY SUPERIOR TO THE VILE, OVERLY COMPRESSED CD ISSUES AND THE LAUGHABLE RECENT VINYL REISSUE (WHAT WAS IT PRESSED FROM, A CASSETTE COPY? WHO THE HELL MASTERED THE CLINICAL DIGITAL SOUND? WAS NOT AN ORIGINAL REFERENCE COPY AT HAND TO PLAY IT AGAINST?). WITH THIS DISC WE WOULD RECOMMEND A SERIOUS VPI CLEAN WITH DISC DOCTOR FLUIDS BEFORE YOUR FIRST PLAY OF THIS ALBUM WHICH WOULD BRIGHTEN UP THE SOUND EVEN MORE, AND PROTECT YOUR STYLUS AND INVESTMENT.
