Description
Hi I have put this record up for sale after seeing another copy of the same LP sold just recently.
I purchased this LP myself back in the early 1970s from Andys record stall in Bury St Edmunds being interested in all forms of Progressive music and trad folk.
In terms of its condition I am no expert on the definition of what old record classifications are but I can confirm the following:-
The LP would have been played by me but certainly not in the past 30 years and I would guess that is was played no more than 10 times. I was always very careful with handling records and the track surfaces look to be very good to me with the record still looking very bright. I can see no major scratches on either surfaces but there are a few light marks.
The LP has the orange CBS label which is in pristine condition on both sides with no writing on it and the reference number S 64168 MADE IN ENGLAND dated 1970
The inner sleeve is a standard white sleeve which is showing signs of discolouration and this was the sleeve supplied when I purchased the LP brand new ( I understand from the previous record sold very recently that it should have had an CBS advertising sleeve but as mentioned earlier I bought this record new and this white sleeve was the original)
Once again the record itself looks to be in Excellent condition to me,which would not be surprising as it has only played on a few occasions and then stored flat for almost 40 years.
Explaining the condition of the cover is much more difficult for me not being an expert. Three edges look to be in generally good condition especially the edge with the name of the record on. The opening edge looks once again to be in good condition but there there is some browning on the cut paper edge which I guess you would expect to see after so many years. There looks to be some slight creasing along the top and bottom of the LP to the left side when viewing from the front but this is only noticable when you more the sleeve in the light ( if you know what I mean )
The rear of the sleeve has "Shorepak by Shorewood Packaging Co.Ltd ENGLAND". Patents Pending. and the corners look to be good condition. There is no writing on either side There is what loos to be a water mark or perhaps an pricing label to the top left hand corner on the front but once again only really noticable in the correct light.
Record was stored in a plastic outer cover which is now very tired looking but was original and did come with the LP at the time of purchase.
Obviously for the previously sold copy on email this LP is very collectable and I can confirm that I purchased from new and been the only owner so know exactly what its history is. I would be pleased to answer any questions or if required would be happy to show prospective buyers the record.
I have just played this LP in for the first time in over 35 years and I must say it sounds excellent no jumps or skips and very little background noise.
