Trees was an English folk rock band that existed between 1969 and 1972. Although the group met with little commercial success in their time, the reputation of the band has grown over the years. Like other folk contemporaries, Trees' music was influenced by Fairport Convention, but with a heavier and more psychedelic edge. The group's material was divided between adaptations of traditional songs and original compositions.

Trees produced two studio albums, both in 1970, The Garden of Jane Delawney and On The Shore.

The Garden of Jane Delawney is their debut album. Whilst nearly every song on the album appears to be a traditional folk song, this is actually only the case for about half of them, the others having been penned for the album by front-man Bias Boshell. The title track is a particular good example of his apparent talent for writing songs that sounded like they had existed for hundreds of years as folk songs.

Record Condition: Very Good+.  There is some degree of hairlines and/or scuffing under the bright light and both sides do show some very slight clicks/crackle at the quieter passages on occasion. Side 2 track 4 has 2 but separated deeper clicks at the start.  Nothing, however to detract from the listening experience.    The CBS records from this period are well known to exibit the odd click or slight crackle at times even when new and in mint condition.  This record is very rare and highly collectible and so I am trying to be objective in its assessment.   The record plays and sounds fine.  It is also a wonderful listening experience - one of the very best electric folk music recordings from the late '60's/'70's. 

Record sleeve: Excellent condition.  Laminated front. Inner sleeve is the original CBS advertising contemporary artists eg Bob Dylan.
