HERE is a rare copy of one of the best and most sought after albums ever made - The Garden of Jane Delawney, the astounding debut album by Trees, on original UK CBS vinyl from 1970. The beautiful Shorewood 'patent pending' single sleeve with its enigmatic artwork painted by guitarist David Costa is in EX condition with absolutely no faults I need to draw to your attention ... there's no unwanted writing, no creasing, no half-moons, no edge wear, no spine wear, no spinal text loss, no sticker damage, no sticker residue, no ringwear, no feathering of the opening edges, no writing inside the opening edge ... in short no nothing - a perfect sleeve!!! Both grooved orange CBS labels are in EX condition with no writing, rips or sticker damage, and only light signs of use. Both sides of the disc with earliest A1/B1 matrices look a comfortable VG in normal light with just light surface and sleeve removal marks to be seen when examined under strong halogen lighting. I have play-tested this album and both sides of the disc play all the way through from beginning to end without skips or jumps but please be aware that there is some background crackle at various points. In Galactic Ramble, the much respected music reviewer Aaron Milenski states: "The Garden of Jane Delawney is a masterpiece, one of the finest rock albums of its era," adding that "fuzz guitar, eerie songwriting and (opera-trained Celia) Humphris' fragile voice give them a powerful and compelling sound of their own". This is a rare and beautiful copy of a wondrous album but please allow me to remind you that there is some background noise to take into account when you consider your valuation.
