TREES "THE GARDEN OF JANE DELAWNEY" 1987 U.K. Decal exact reissue of RARE 1970 progressive-folk classic LP featuring "She Moved Thro' The Fair", "The Garden Of Jane Delawney" + 7 more great tracks. Decal LIK 15. M-/M.
Trees released two albums in 1970, this is an exact reissue of their first album "The Garden Of Jane Delawney" (CBS 63837). Originals are now a much sought after & expensive rarity. They were a very good progressive folk rock outfit that will forever be compared to Fairport Convention due to the similarity of their lineups. But the comparisons stop there. Lead guitarist Barry Clarke is more rock oriented giving the music a more psychedelic feel than Richard Thompson while lead singer Celia Humphris has a very appealing voice but is less comfortable with traditional folk music than Sandy Denny. Highlights of this LP include their take on "She Moved Thro' The Fair", the title track "The Garden Of Jane Delawney" & "Nothing Special" which was released as their only single in 1970. Never released in the U.S., this 1987 pressing is an exact reissue of the 1970 CBS original which now commands over a hundred dollars in decent condition.

Cover is intact & retains its original look & feel with no fading, writing or split seams. The only deterrent is a 1" sticker removal tear in the upper right corner. Overall the cover still rates a near MINT grading. Record sounds great with no scratches or scuffs. Looks unplayed! Vinyl still retains its original sheen- rated MINT. The black, white & gray Decal labels look great & indicate that it is a 1987 pressing.
