Recorded in spring 1972 at the height of Bolanmania, and released in that sparkling first summer of Glam,
T.Rex's The Slider was Marc Bolan's superstar album.
It arrived on the back of four Number 1 and two Number 2 hit singles, the chart-topping Electric Warrior
LP, two Number 1 compilation albums and enough column inches to warrant comparisons with the early
days of Beatlemania. It was the most hotly anticipated album of 1972 - and of Bolan's career.
It was, insisted the man who dominated pop throughout 1971 and '72, also one of his most misunderstood.
