London trio trickpony move through downtempo with a kind of soft-focus confidence, and it's something that sits between trip-hop revivalism and new age pop collage. Their sound feels assembled from vapour trails and half-whispered phrases, yet the production is sharp enough to hold the whole thing together. 'Ripple' opens in a hush of layered textures, with breaks sliding beneath glinting synths and while 'Trick Trick' tightens the frame into a percussive drift. 'Angel' and 'No/Direction' pare things back further and leaves space for delayed fragments and quiet vocal flourishes that seem to hover opposed to land. 'Memphis Light' closes in a swirl of technicolour d&b; a loose, psychedelic detour that still feels true to the trio's shadowy, slow-burning palette.
