For his eleventh album Tricky peels away the thick layers of dark mystique and moody dynamics he's synonymous with by bearing his own birth name as the title and imprint he's self-released it on. Teaming up with a series of vocal collaborators, once again it's a melting pot of styles and sounds, tied together with his own personal heady introspection: The slinky slide guitars and sinewy bass of the Nneka-featured "Keep Me In Your Shake", the club-ready electro angularities of "Nicotine Love", the mid 90s gangster hip-hop and cheeky Massive Attack reference of "Gangster Chronicle", the lolloping blues of "I Had A Dream"... As with all Tricky albums, at first the tracks seem disparate and distant, but make more sense as a whole on every listen.
