Description
This is a rare to find vinyl LP issued under the Telco label (Independent Trinidad and Tobago). Side One features the Vocals: a) by 5 star 1963 Calypso King: The Mighty Sparrow who sings "Calypso Twist"; b) 4 star 1963 Road March King: Lord Kitchener who sings "Road on Carnival Day"; c) 3 star 1963 second runner up: The Mighty Dougla who sings "Man Nicer Than Woman"; d) 2 star Lord Cristo who sings "Monkey and Donkey"; and e) 2 star Lord Blakie who sings "Chinese Food".
Side Two features the Instrumentals: a) "Road on Carnival Day" by Frank Francis Orchestra; b) "The Slave" by Ansel Wyatt Combo; c) "Outcast" by Clarence Curvan; "Love in the Cemetery" by Frank Francis Orchestra; and "Kennedy and Khrushchev" by Clarence Curvan.
The heavy duty vinyl is in very nice condition showing little use and produces a great sound. It is rated conservatively as EX or VG++. The jacket is very nice condition also rated conservatively as VG+ with just a small wrinkle on cover near bottom right where record is inserted (see photo). The laminated live action color cover shows a performer doing the limbo dance with a label attached identifying the artists and is suitable for framing by those so inclined. The back cover contains small photo head shots of each vocal performer and all lyrics to the vocal songs. A new generic inner sleeve is provided as well as a re-sealable clear poly outer sleeve to keep this gem another 50+ years. Record and jacket will be separated, covered with bubbled wrap and mailed off in heavy duty cardboard record mailer.
