Description

Artist: Douglass High School / Trinikas Title: Black is Beautiful Record Label: Century Records Stereo (33594) Record Condition: NM- (brilliant gloss and shine / very few marks-scuffs to speak of under very bright light  / a few light touches from being in a sleeve / plays amazing) Cover Condition: VG+ (gorgeous textured cover / minor 1/2" top middle seam pull)
Unbelieveably rare one from Douglass High School. Unheard of to be this clean and brilliant condition. This is from the same funky High School out of Oklahoma City that brought you the "Black Out" and "Black Experience" LP's. This one is from 1970 (Same year as "Black Out"),  and like those other albums, the album toggles between a lot of Choir music and then Soul music.  Side 2 includes a great Jazz-Rock satire of My Fair Lady, but what really makes this album special is the original version of the song "Black is Beautiful" performed by The Trinikas.  This Song was later released as a single on Century and again on Pearce.  This being the original live version of the song, makes it even more rare than the singles. I will ship internationally to any country but shipping charges are not $4 and any item that is $50 USD or more shipped international will have to be sent registered mail which is $11 USD on top of shipping cost, no exceptions. International shipping is dependent on the actual cost of shipping from the post office. Note that international shipping has increase so expect shipping to cost more as of January 27, 2013.  An example of international after the change has been around $10 to $13 USD for a single 45 or $18 to $22 USD for a single LP. Please do not pay if you are international before I send you an invoice. Payment is due within 3 days.

I ship in very sturdy record mailers with 2 solid cardboard stiffeners and tape very well with shipping tape.  Shipping is a little heavier because of this but I choose safety over cheaper cost for shipping.  I also always separate the record from the cover during shipping to prevent splits unless item is already sealed. Any LP that is $50 USD or more I give the royal treatment with protective plastic sleeves for the LP and cover.  All 45's come in a plastic protective sleeve no matter the final auction.
