RARE as HAND SIGNED BY LEGENDARY GUITARIST ROBIN TROWER...authentic autograph in bold black pen (see photo) it's the real deal, obtained on a tour of the USA...

Despite the many highs of Procol Harum's decade-long run of 1967-1977, It is possible, the group never made an album of such consistent brilliance as this one. Here is why:

The 1969 album starts with the well-known A Salty Dog. This is a beatiful, sad and emotional song that tells the history of sailors who return home after much time. The piano and the arrangements are superb. The interpretation given by Brooker is great.

Then comes a very good song, The Milk of Human Kindness, the trio Brooker,Fisher,Trower playing well guitar, piano and organ. It has blues influences in the guitar.

Too Much Between Us is a beautiful song, very mellow, with good acoustic guitar and organ riff. The singing is very mellow and the lyrics are about lovers separeted by distance. It is a very beautiful tune.

The Devil Came from Kansas is more psychedelic oriented, with a duo of the very strong distorded guitar from Trower with a great solo and Brooker´s piano. Great psychedelic song.

To close the first side of the original LP comes Boredom, sung by Fisher. The song is an uplifting feel with some wood instrument (flute?) and marimba. The mood of the song may remind one of a place with sailors (on a harbour or a ship).

The second side stars with the bluesy Juice John Pink. A very good duo by Trower and Fisher. The lyrics and singing are completely blues influenced.

The second song, the Wreck of Hesperus, is a beautiful composition by Fisher. The  arrangements and the piano are very beautiful, the singing is very nice too and this one is probably one of the best songs of the album.

All this and More, is a great song à la Procol Harum, with great interplay between guitar and piano and strong backing arrangements.

Crucifixion Lane is a Trower´s composition. He sings the song also. The song is great and has a obscure mood, bass is very strong and distinctive, there´s also good piano and organ work, and of course, the Trower´s guitar, sounding always like Hendrix (and he developed his style BEFORE Hendrix start to release his works).

The last one is the beautiful Pilgrim´s Progress, a Fisher´s composition. He sings the song and plays a very tasteful organ. Probably this song has the best organ passages of the whole album. The song is almost entirely of organ, bass and drums. In the end, comes a closing piece with piano and bells.

CONDITION:  The cover is stiff and solid with bright colors VG++ having hard to see staple holes and nothing else...no split seams, no bends and bold authentic signature by guitarist ROBIN TROWER ... 

The vinyl is all glossy clean and clear "EX" (excellent) to M- and looks really clewan all over and so are both labels...
