The poetry on this album comes from Giovanni’s books, “BLACK FEELINGS, BLACK TALK, BLACK JUDGEMENT” and “RE-CREATION,” with the exception of the “MY TOWER.” The liner notes, or essay, on the back is written by Ellis B. Haizlip, producer of the famed public-affairs TV show, “SOUL!” on WNET-TV (New York).
