Original 1963 U.K. first issue mono pressing released on the Fontana label TL 5195.
Description :
Very rare and hard to find jazz classic. Autographed by the jazz legend himself !!!
From 1957 to 1959 Tubby Hayes joined Ronnie Scott in co-leading a quintet, The Jazz Couriers, perhaps the most fondly remembered of British Modern Jazz groups. Subsequently, Hayes reformed his quartet, and toured Germany with Kurt Edelhagen. Then in 1961 he was invited to play at the Half Note Club in New York; a new transatlantic Musicians' Union agreement meant that, in exchange, Zoot Sims played at Ronnie Scott's. While in America, Hayes recorded (Tubbs in NY) with Clark Terry, Eddie Costa, and Horace Parlan, and in 1962 he returned for another visit, this time recording Return Visit with James Moody, Roland Kirk, Walter Bishop Jr, Sam Jones, and Louis Hayes. It remains one of his seminal recordings.
Condition ~ Vinyl :
The vinyl is in absolutely superb NEAR MINT condition. Virtually pristine and plays superbly throughout. You're unlikely to ever find a better copy.

Condition ~ Sleeve :
The gorgeous laminated Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. flip-back sleeve is in EXCELLENT shape with just very light overall wear and faint creasing but no splits or tears. There is a number and a small patch of black ink in the top right corner on the rear.
Tubby has signed the sleeve on the rear in black pen "To Pete Good Luck Tubby Hayes".
Condition ~ Labels :
Both rough textured labels are perfectly clean. No writing and no visible spindle marks.
