Description
Tubbs In New York was released on the Fontana label in 1962 and my copy , bought in the 60's, is the stereo pressing STFL 595. The recording took place in New York on 3rd - 4th October 1961. The American musicians appearing on the album with Tubby Hayes are all renown jazzmen and the long sleeve notes are written by Benny Green.
The record is in excellent condition and the vinyl is virtually unmarked. I recorded the album to tape shortly after purchase and often played the tape rather than the album - hence its nearly new condition. It plays very well with superb sound and with no skipping or jumping and there seems to be hardly any surface noise or sound deterioration after all these years. The record has been stored vertically in a record cabinet alongside other LPs all its life.
The front cover is laminated and in excellent condition. It is very clean and has no marks or creases on it. The spine is also unmarked and is clearly legible. The back cover is also in excellent condition with no marks or creases, and though unlaminated, is remarkably clean and white for its age.
The album comes with its original inner sleeve which has no folds,splits or tears.
