Description
A great opportunity to buy a RARE FIRST STEREO PRESSING VINYL LP from the 1960's by Tubby Hayes called "Tubbs In N.Y.".
This is a U.K. pressing released in 1962 on the Fontana label (STFL 595)(stereo) and has 6 tracks (see photos for track listings).
The vinyl is in a clean and shiny VERY GOOD condition. I always examine and grade records under a bright table lamp and there are several light surface marks evident, particularly on side two. There are a few light scratches and scuff marks covering an area of side two and these cause a soft audible click for several revolutions on part of the final track.
I have played the whole of both sides and it is a very listenable album with plenty of great jazzy sax and piano.
The labels are clean and free from any writing, stickers or major defects. There are only a few light spindle marks on the labels.The record is flat and has no warps of any description.
The record is housed within its original poly-lined plain inner sleeve in a VERY GOOD condition considering its age.
The front laminated flipback picture cover is in a clean and shiny VERY GOOD condition.The edges and spine are very strong and the writing on the spine is clearly readable (see photo). There is some minor wear on the corners, particularly at the bottom right, but nothing too serious. The back cover is still fairly clean, with some fading along the opening edge.
The album is a very collectable example of Tubby Hayes' work and it should be of much interest to avid collectors.
