Description
Very very very rare Oz collectible, one of the rarest records I have ever offered. This is an original studio acetate/test copy of Tully's seminal 1970 self-titled prog/psych masterpiece from 1970. It is probably the last studio reference/test copy in existence. Checkout the original EMI studio label and catalogue numbers (in the photo below) - which differ markedly from the those of the official release. Botyh labels also have the word "YES' pencilled on them indicating the record was approved for pressing and release from this copy. Just incredibly historic piece and a must for all OZ prog/psych collectors.
VINYL: VG++ - the only real problem is a pressing fault in the vinyl which appears in two patches - one on each side - as light speckling. It doesn't seriously effect listening pleasure except where it is present in quiet parts when it can be heard as a low background noise. Overall it affects 30-40% of tracks but only in the two patches. Apart from that there are light marks and lights scuffs. I have played it through to several collectors all of whom have found it a good listen still. I have also ahd some big offers for the LP, however, I'm starting it a low and realistically fair price and letting it set its own label. The sound may not be perfect all the way through but this is a staggeringly rare piece of history.
