Summary: Most Dee Jay’s in 1954 overlooked the slow R&B ballad Gloria by The Cadillacs. However the following year was a different story. That’s when the Cadillac’s lead  singer Earl Carroll recorded a song about his nickname. “Well, now, they often call me Speedo but my real name is Mister Earl.” Twisting With The Cadillacs contains many of the classic R&B tunes that the Cadillac’s drove up and down the R&B charts through out the fifties, with this original version of Speedo being the most significant. As Kidd Rhythm I had the pleasure of spinning the gospel according to R&B on KAOS FM on Sunday afternoon where fifties music was usually discovered on the bottom of the charts.

I must admit that the ‘greeners’ did hear the ’55 Josie label single of Speedo but didn’t hear the Original Cadillacs cover version of Buzz Buzz Buzz which is on this album. Although the listening audience in the parking lot or on or off campus did hear the original ‘57 version by the Hollywood Flames that penned the song. As DJ Kidd Rhythm I started shipping music out of my downtown Olympia record store Positively 4th Street in 1982.  Selling on eBay as Positively4tstreet since Feb. 2004. All used vinyl LP’s ship outside of their jacket in an inner sleeve with new oversize 3 mil poly sleeve in a new store bag. All enclosed with bubble wrap in a new brown or white recyclable record box shipped within a day after the order through media mail insured with tracking.
