Description

I CAN FIND very few facts about these two discs.  They are obviously Hawaiian, products of the 1930s, but there is no label name, and the masters seem like the products of two unrelated companies.  One of them even boasts "Composer Unknown." Nevertheless, this is some excellent music: 


1: No. 1254,  "KGU - the Voice of Hawaii" presents JOHNNY ALMEIDA and company doing "PUA HINAHINA. " The flip side, also presented by KGU, is  SALLY KAHOIWEI PETERS and the NANI MAKAKOA TRIO doing "HILO HANAKAHI." This latter is NOT a Hawaiian song about Hanukkah.  


2:  no number:  JOHNNY ALMEIDA'S HAWAIIANS play "KUU LEI LILIA" and  "HOLOHOLO KAA." This latter is NOT a song about holograms.  


These two original products of the Sandwich Islands are in V+ (no number) and E (KGU) condition. Both are laminated pressings, incidentally.  Aloha Oy!

These records come from my private collection, which I have been accumulating since 1967, and now am downsizing!  My highest priority in these eBay auctions is to give you the best possible idea of a record’s true condition and aesthetic value.  I always post at least four clear images, showing the record fore and aft, a close-up of the label, and the whole disc, warts and all.  If my purple prose won’t cut it, the pictures will!  Shipping is done with expert care. Your record will brave Media Mail in a stout corregated box, between four sheets of cardboard and a couple of “packers.”  I hope you are amused by these descriptions, and by the quality of service being offered.
