This handsome and rare 10" LP from Philips (N 00647 R, Spanish pressing, green/silver Minigroove label, mono – no stereo edition exists) features the original LP release of legendary Brazilian pianist Magda Tagliaferro's brilliantly imagined and executed account of Schumann's Carnaval Op. 9, taped by Hilversum Radio, in 1953 and first issued on LP by Philips the following year. Any recording by Tagliaferro is to be treasured and this is no exception, with this remarkable artist on wonderfully communicative and charismatic form.
There are informative liner notes (uncredited) on the reverse side of the jacket, printed in Spanish only. The charming cover art is similarly uncredited.
CONDITION:
The gradations of condition I use are as follows: MINT, Near-Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor.
The condition of the jacket is EXCELLENT. There is some wear at corners, discoloration, and minor creasing, but that is all. However, there are no seamsplits owners' markings, bends, or other defects, and the album remains solid, bright, glossy, and highly attractive – overall, an excellent collector's copy.
The condition of the LP itself is EXCELLENT. There are spindle trails and a hairline, but non-sounding scratch to Side 2. Though surfaces are not perfectly silent, playback is enjoyable. If you must have a flawless or NM copy, please do not buy this LP. Overall, this rates as an excellent collector’s copy.

This LP has been carefully cleaned using a VPI cleaning machine. All LPs are provided with a new Nagaoka (or Nagaoka-style) inner sleeve.
