Factory Sealed since 1963.  A Rare find.!  Both albums are in the original tough factory seal with the original sticker price from the early 1960's @ 99cents. 

These are the American Versions, not the English UK versions.  The American records did not have a storybook, only the  English records did so.

  Tale Spinners for Children was a series of stories and novels adapted for young audiences on vinyl records in the early 1960s.  This set is from 1963.  Part One is catalog number UAC 11026, and Part Two is #UAC 11031.  UAC denotes "United Artists" catalog.  Both records were distributed by United Artists in the USA.

Originally only 30 records were pressed in England and France and sold as Atlas Talespinners under the Atlas Record label, and included an easy to follow story booklet. Within a few years, these records were introduced to the U.S. as Tale Spinners for Children under the United Artists Records label. What was known as the Atlas Theatre Company in England was marketed as the Famous Theatre Company in the United States. The story booklets were not included in the U.S. releases.

UA continued to produce more stories records until the early 1970s, and distribute them in the Canadian and Australian markets as well.

With popular children's record companies like Walt Disney Records already on the market, a host of other record companies followed: Mercury Storyteller series, Golden Records, Telegeneral Let's Pretend, Riverside Wonderland and Pathways of Sound.

Part One is narrated by the Famous Theater Company with accompanied sounds of the Hollywood Studio  Orchestra.  What was known as the Atlas Theatre Company in England was marketed as the Famous Theatre Company in the United States.    Part One - James McKenchie and John Wood UAC 11026.  John Wood, CBE (5 July 1930 – 6 August 2011) was an English actor noted for his performances in Shakespeare and for his long association with Tom Stoppard.  This is not a Musical, or Soundtrack record, just simply a Children's Story record.   James McKechnie was born on April 8, 1911 in Glasgow, Scotland. He was an actor, known for The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp (1943), Caesar and Cleopatra (1945) and Scott of the Antarctic (1948). He was married to Mary Ross. He died on May 7, 1964 in London, England. 

United Artists released the 30 original stories in the US in 1962. The recording labels changed when Liberty Records (its budget subsidiary Sunset Records) and United Artists Records[3] merged in 1968 after Transamerica[4] bought Liberty. All labels were merged under United Artists in 1971. When Liberty was deactivated in 1971 (for the first time) both the Sunset and Talespinners series was leased by Springboard International[5] and in the case of the Talespinners series they used the same catalog numbers until 1975. When Springboard International Records went bankrupt 1984 Gusto Records acquired some of their catalogues from Jay-Koala.

Part Two:   (the second record about the Old Testament), uses the same Actors for Narration, as well as the Hollywood Studio Orchestra.   The Hollywood Studio Symphony is the credited name of the symphony orchestra behind many major soundtracks, including The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, Sucker Punch, Jurassic Park 3, Last Samurai, Pirates of the Caribbean, We Are Marshall, Spider-Man 2, Lost and The Bourne Supremacy. Although the name "Hollywood Studio Symphony" may lead listeners to think that it is a conventional symphony orchestra like the London Symphony Orchestra, the actual members of the ensemble are session musicians contracted individually and differ from soundtrack to soundtrack.
