When you buy from a small Mom & Pop business you

are not helping a CEO buy a third vacation home,

a second yacht or a four hundred million dollar golden

parachute.  Instead, you’re helping a little girl get

dance lessons, a little boy get his team jersey,

a Mom put food on the table, a Dad pay a mortgage,

or a student pay for college. Our customers are our

shareholders; they are the ones we strive to make happy.

Thank you for supporting small businesses.

Thoughts for today:

The alternate domination of one faction over another, sharpened by

the spirit of revenge, natural to party dissension, which in different

ages and countries has perpetrated the most horrid enormities, is itself

a frightful despotism. But this leads at length to a more formal and

permanent despotism. The disorders and miseries which result gradually

incline the minds of men to seek security and repose in the absolute

power of an individual; and sooner or later the chief of some prevailing

faction, more able or more fortunate than his competitors, turns this

disposition to the purposes of his own elevation, on the ruins of public liberty.

                                           --- From George Washington's Farewell Address, 1796

Be a nuisance where it counts. Do your part to inform and stimulate the public

to join your action. Be depressed, discouraged, and disappointed at failure and

the disheartening effects of ignorance, greed, corruption and bad politics — but

never give up.

                                           --- Marjory Stoneman Douglas (1890 - 1998)
