Tangerine Dream "...In the Beginning" 6LP Box Set. Relativity Records. ECM8066. 1985. Number 4265.
I am the second owner of this box set. Just culling the herd.
I've played this LP probably 2-3 times. Played on my Project Perspective with an Ortofon OM30 cartridge. My records are cleaned with a Record Doctor V machine.
I listen to my records and don't just give a visual grade.
The box is in very sad shape (as you can see in the pictures). It still works and holds all of the records.
Overall, all of the records I would list as in excellent condition with couple exceptions.
The "Alpha Centauri" LP I would list as very good. The intro on both side have some surface noise which lasts for about a minute. There is also a light scuff on side B from the outer edge to the inner edge. It's very light and does not affect playback (see the last picture). Otherwise the LP is fine.
The "Green Desert" I would also list as very good. Side B, track 1 has two very small scuffs. They look like two teeny little hairs. They do not affect playback. Otherwise the LP is fine.
The inner sleeves are in OK condition. They are all intact but there is some tear through on some of the seams.
The liner notes/essay booklet is in nice shape. It's still stapled together and looks good. It's an interesting read.
Overall, this is a very nice box set of early Tangerine Dream. It's a great way to get into their early works.
