The influence Tangerine Dream has had upon modern music cannot be overstated; everything from pop to modern movie scores have all been influenced by its expressive, electronic approach. The group practically invented new age and ambient music. In fact, anyone who uses electronic instruments to create music owes some debt to TD.
Tangerine Dream released 'Stratosfear in the Fall of 1976 and remains one of the group's most revered studio albums. The music here sounds like a textured space odyssey and speaks of isolation.... but places the listener almost as if they were witnessing someone else's immersive experience; a cinematic experience if you will. The compositions are at once emotionally touching, soothing, and at times, overwhelming. An innovative masterpiece.
On offer is a first Japanese pressing (YX-7141-VR) which comes with Obi, Insert, and giant Poster. The audio is clear, dynamic, balanced, and distortion-free....a superb first pressing.
Gatefold Jacket: Near Mint.....laminated to front and back....the slightest evidence of handling.....a near-perfect example.
Obi: Near Mint(-)....an inoffensive crease near the bottom....but still very well preserved.
Double-Sided Insert: Near Mint
Giant Poster: Near Mint
Record: Near Mint.....high gloss to both sides...perfect labels....decent weight ....can not have been played more than once or twice. Exceptional audio from start to finish.
