Tartini Mozart Violin Sonatas Oistrakh Aust Columbia 33OCX 1415
David Oistrakh with Vladimir Yampolsky performs Tartini’s “Devil’s Trill” Sonata, and Mozart’s “Violin Sonata” in B flat, K. 454. An original Australian pressing on the Columbia Label (33 OCX 1415) the labels are blue with gold lettering, and this is a “pancake” pressing. There are some light surface scuffs and marks, particularly at the start of side two that causes some crackle, otherwise the record is of very good appearance and plays and sounds superb with consistant low-level surface noise and occasional clicks. The recording is excellent. The English cover’s laminate has a nice shine with slight rubbing and some creases.
