Description

      RARE 1980 seven-inch EP by Tav Falco and The Panther Burns on FRENZI label. A-side: "She's the One to Blame" & "Dateless Night" and Z-side: "Drop Your Mask" (tango) & "Train Kept a Rolling" Original Panther Burns line-up, featuring Big Star alumni Alex Chilton (guitar, feedback, bottleneck), Gustave Falco (vocals/guitar), Ron Miller (stand-up bass) and the inimitable Ross Johnson (drums).  Straight outta' Memphis, folks!
      I purchased this EP at a Cramps show in New Orleans, LA in either 1980 or '81. Alex Chilton was "working the board" for both bands in a tiny lounge near the Mississippi River. It was the funniest thing I've ever seen. The Panther Burns were far better than The Cramps. Chilton roared like a tiger on guitar. There may be more of these singles out there, but I haven't seen another since I bought this one. The hand silkscreened sleeve looks as sharp as it did the day I bought it. I haven't played it ten times since I bought it.
