Description

This is a very nice copy of Classic Records 180g pressing of Ernest Anersmet’s recording of Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite on two single-sided 180g records with the Royal Opera House Orchestra, Covent Garden.  The Test presssings come from the 45 RPM set “The Royal Ballet”.  The pressing date of side A is “Jun 17 1994” and is stamped “LSC-6065 A1 45”. The pressing date of side B is also “Jun 17 1994” and is stamped “LSC-6065 A2 45”.When I first bought them new, the records were cleaned with a VPI record cleaner and treated with LAST record preservative.  More recently it was recleaned with Audio Intelligent Fluids on a VPI cleaner and on an Audio Desk ultra sonic record cleaner.  It has also been demagnetized with a Furutech DeMag.  It plays with very little surface noise with only a few light ticks here and there over the two sides.  There are no scratches on the records.  I have only played the record a few times on various VPI tables I have owned (HW-19 MKIV, TNT 3.5, and Classic 4) using either Lyra or Benz Mico Ruby cartridges. The sound is naturally open and detailed. The covers is a plain white jacket with the date and matrix number information stamped on the upper right corner.  There no seam or other deformities.  Only side one of each LP has a label which indicates it is a “Test Pressing” pressed by RTI along with the matrix information and date.  Side two has a blank white label and is smooth. I purchased these records new from Classic Records about 15 years ago when they were selling off their test pressings.    Multiple records can be combined in an order to save shipping costs.
