Tchaikovsky Sleeping Beauty Ansermet UK Decca SXL 2160
Ernst Ansermet conducts the Suisse Romande Orchestra in a complete performance of the “Sleeping Beauty” Ballet by Tchaikovsky. A three record set, this is an English stereo pressing on the Decca Label (SXL 2160-1-2, stampers 1E/2E - 1E for all others). The labels have a full frequency stereophonic sound “fatband” and logo, “original recording by…” at 10 o’clock, and a groove. Records 1 and 6 are mislabeled and reversed. The records, apart from a few minor scuffs, are of excellent appearance and play and sound superb with occasional minor surface noise. One of the record labels has some sticker residue (side one). The box is excellent with very minor wear only. The notes are separate sheets (whether this is original or have been cut I don’t know) and have a few stains.
