This is the record that started it all for Ian MacKaye, Dischord Records and the Washington D.C. hardcore Straight Edge SXE scene: the Teen Idles "Minor Disturbance" E.P. 7" MEGA-RARE FIRST PRESSING WITH THE HARD CARDBOARD GLOSSY SLEEVE AND NO BLACK FLAG BARS ON HENRY ROLLINS' HAND ON THE BACK COVER PICTURE (ONLY 1 000 WERE MADE OF THIS FIRST PRESSING, the later second pressing of 1 000 was on light plain paper and featured a "second pressing mention" as well as "Black Flag bars" on Henry's hand on the back cover) released in december 1980 on Dischord Records. It features the following messages etched in the dead wax, proving it to be a true original FIRST PRESSING: "Wherever we may roam...", "Georgetown is our Home", "NR-12367-1", "NR-12367-B" and "JE". Produced by Skip Groff, Engineered by Don Zientara at Inner Ear Studios and featuring pictures by Susie Josephson and Jay Rabinowitz as well as graphics by Jeff Nelson. Track listing: 1. The Teen Idles were founded in September 1979 on the rubbles of The Slinkees, which disbanded after their singer Mark Sullivan went to college. The Teen Idles featured Nathan Strejcek (later of Youth Brigade D.C.) on vocals and ex-Slinkees Geordie Grindle on guitar, Ian MacKaye (who later became the singer for the legendary Minor Threat and also Fugazi) on bass and Jeff Nelson (later of Minor Threat) on drums. After player together for a year, the Teen Idles decided to break up in late summer 1980 but not before releasing at least one record. They used the 600 $ they saved from playing 35 concerts and recorded those eight songs, knowing that nobody would be interested to release their record, especially since they were breaking up. They decided to release it themselves, with the help of their friend Skip Groff, who ran the "Yesterday and Today" record shop in Rockville, Maryland, as well as Limp Records, a small record label. Skip explained the Teen Idles how to release a record and that's how the guys started the legendary Dischord Records, designed the cover for this 7" and sent the tapes they had recorded to a pressing plant for a December 1980 release. And the rest is history! Soon after came S.O.A., Minor Threat, Youth Brigade, The Untouchable, Government Issue, Iron Cross and all those other D.C. hardcore bands you love! ! Record and sleeve in fantastic condition EXCEPT FOR THE FACT THAT SOME SCHMOE WROTE THE NAME OF THE WNUR CHICAGO RADIO STATION AND OTHER MESSAGES ALL OVER THE SLEEVE AND RECORD LABELS IN BLUE SHARPIE (SEE PICTURE!).
