The Delmonicos were formed in 1959 out of Manhattan.Original members consisted of Joe Cariati, Nick DiBona, Gary Knight, John Martin and Victor Rodriguez. In 1961 they backed and recorded on Aku Records with the lounge singer- Denise Germaine- on this DooWopping rarety. In the early 60's the Delmonicos perfomed in such clubs as the Copacabana, the Peppermint Lounge, and the Camelot among others and they had additional releases on AKU. Denise Germaine also performed on the New York lounge circuit and recorded this one and only with The Delmonicos on the small and short-lived AKU label, and only a few others on the United Artists and ABC/Paramount labels. Her recordings are all very good yet also very rare- and not much has ever been documented about her life or music career.
