This is one of the most sought-after and prized LP's ever released by Telarc Records. Instead of squeezing the 60-minute Carmina Burana onto 2 LP sides as most record labels do, Telarc has placed it on 3 sides. This enables the full dynamic range of the music to be recorded. The first section of this piece, "O Fortuna", has been used in dozens of movies and television commercials. Side 4 contains Hindemith's Symphonic Metamorphosis of Themes by Carl Maria Von Weber.
The vocal soloists are Judith Blegen, Hakan Hagegard, and William Brown. The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and Chorus and the Atlanta Boy Choir are directed by Robert Shaw. Includes the libretto in Latin and English. The gatefold jacket is in EX- condition with minor shelf wear. Sides 2, 3, and 4 are in excellent condition. Side 1 is in VG+ condition with a few small scratches.
