Description

This is the original 1969 UK large brown Deram label mono issue (the labels were replaced with the smaller Deram style labels in mid-1969), with the 1A 1A matrices, JT tax codes and the early 2B-BB 4B-K (2B & 4B indicates different cutting machines/laquers), mother stampers of the first pressing copies!

The second album by Ten Years After was issued in February 1969 and recorded in two weeks in September 1968 at Decca Studios, London (Mike Vernon of Blue Horizon even helped out with backing vocals!!). As the follow up to their first album it was recorded after they had toured the Europe & the USA and released a live album 'Undead'. They returned to the USA soon after its release, appearing at the Newport Jazz Festival & Seattle in July and at Woodstock in August, which broke them in the USA.

The Garrod & Lofthouse front laminated gatefold sleeve is intact & in EX condition, with some laminate rubbing and a couple of small creases on the front cover and some light storage rubbing on the unlaminated inner cover. The wide spine is intact, slightly faded and fully readable, the red mono company inner is intact & in EX condition.

The record is in visually EX condition, with a couple of faint sleeve removal hairlines and one or two light needle marks/scuffs visible on each side. The labels are in EX condition, clean & bright with evidence of a couple of faint spindle markings on each side.

The sound reproduction is EX, still clear & precise throughout with no loud pops, hiss or crackle & definately no skips, sticks or jumps, but there is some low background noise during the run in grooves.
Overall, just a really great, loud & lively listen.

The matrix nos. are; ARL-8564-1A stamper 2B-BB, ARL-8565-1A stamper 4B-K. This is one of the early copies of the first pressing of the original UK mono issue of this 1969 album!
