Original UK Deram label stereo press LP.

The first album by Alvin Lee & Ten Years After, recorded in September & first released in October 1967. The group was the first act booked by the soon-to-be Chrysalis Agency. They secured a residency at the Marquee, and were invited to play at the Windsor Jazz Festival in 1967. That performance led to a contract with Deram, a subsidiary of Decca Records, the first band Deram signed without a hit single.

This is the original stereo issue with the second label variation with the large Deram logo, JT tax code, black stereo below the spindle hole and 3W/1W 1st issue matrices. The smaller groove ring and JT tax code were in use from mid-1968, indicating this is a 1968 pressing as the black stereo was dropped from the labels in early 1969 (see Discogs).   The Clout & Baker front laminated sleeve is intact & in EX condition, with some light corner wear & some very light laminate rubbing/scuffing and a crease on one corner, with some light rubbing on the unlaminated rear cover. The spine is intact and fully readable, the company inner is intact and in EX condition.   The record is in visually EX+ condition, with only a couple of faint sleeve removal hairlines and one or two small needle marks/scuffs visible on each side. The labels are in EX+ condition, clean & bright with evidence of a couple of faint spindle markings on each side.   The sound reproduction is EX+, still clear & precise throughout with no loud hiss, pops or crackle & definately no skips, sticks or jumps, but there is some low, brief background noise during the run in grooves, overall a really great, clear and loud listen.   The matrix nos. are; ZAL-8050-3W stamper 1-C, ZAL-8051-1W stamper 1-A. This is one of the 1968 copies of the 1st pressing of the original 1967 UK stereo issue of this album!
