Teo Macero   Explorations   Debut DLP-6  10 Inch record  mono deep groove 

 

Teo Macero (ts, as), Lanny Di Jay (accdn), Charles Mingus, Lou Labella (b), Ed Shaughnessy (d) Recorded 1953 

These sides were not included on the "Complete" Debut cd box. 

 Red and gold label and deep groove both sides. No address on back cover. No writing on spine. Record is flat edge.

 Record looks and plays VG to VG+. Record plays with moderate noise throughout which is below the level of the music and not too intrusive. No distortion and music is still enjoyable. Far from a clean copy but not wrecked either.  Both sides have scuffs and a few small light scratches. No deep or long scratches. Grooves show some wear but do not look damaged.

Cover is VG+

The front cover has moderate wear but still looks quite good. Back cover has moderate to heavy wear with staining at the edges. Top seam split app 3 inches at the pocket. Bottom seam has heavy wear at the corners. Spine is split app. 1/2 inch at the top and 1 inch at the bottom.  Corners have denting and heavy wear.         

  I WILL BE RUNNING WEEKLY AUCTIONS OF 50s and 60s JAZZ LPS INC BLUE NOTE  1500s PRESTIGE NYCs TRANSITIONS ETC. MANY WEEKS AND SOME HIGH END ITEMS TO COME.

 My highest grade is M- and I rarely grade 50s or 60s records M-. Records are graded visually using the Goldmine system. M-, VG++, VG+, VG, VG- etc. I play grade any potential problem areas.  I attempt to grade conservatively, listing all significant flaws. You will be satisfied.  No hassles.
