Description
Terry Allen was a Detroit jazz vocalist here on a 78 rpm test pressing accompanied by jazz great Wynton Kelly on the tune "Crazy He Calls Me" in what looks to be an undocumented recording. Presumably the session never was commercially released. No mention of it in discographies. Kelly takes a nice break about two thirds through "Crazy". Undated but most likely recorded in the late 1940s or early 1950s. The other side again features vocalist Terry Allen on the more uptempo "Almost Like Being in Love" this time accompanied by Paul Foster's Group according to the inscription on the label. Foster was a relatively prominent post war bass player in Detroit who worked with such luminaries as the legendary Detroit pianist Willie Anderson and vibes stalwart Milt Jackson. Song titles are typed on the label. The artists names are handwritten in ink. No additional information on the labels.
