Test Pressing – PUCCINI: MADAM BUTTERFLY - SERAFIN
Six single-sided Decca stereo test pressings made in England (see photos). The labels have OS 25055/6/7 indicating a London issue (the Decca equivalent is SXL 2054/5/6). Handwritten information on one inner gives performers as Tulio Serafin conducting the Orchestra & Chorus of Santa Cecilia, Rome, with Renata Tebaldi, Carlo Bergonzi and Firenza Cossotto.
The discs have occasional marks which may/may not sound; we have not played them. Note: no commercial sleeve.
N.B. This item is from the personal collection of a gentleman closely involved in the classical music business during the 1950s, 1960s & 1970s.
