Test Pressing/Promo Bad Brains LP Rock For Light 1st press PVC 1983 kbd DC punk

1983 Advance Review Copy 1st Press...EX+ vinyl/EX+ cover

Bought this at a used record shop and was told this is a 1st press advance copy sent out by PVC Records to magazine editors and writers for reviews with copies of these letters to promote the then upcoming release produced by The Cars Ric Ocasek...

They also contained a Track Listing sheet that included the Jem Records logo who originally was the Record Pressing Plant in New Jersey who pressed these 1st Press records and Marketed this record...Has the original Dead wax Matrix of:
PVC-8917-A and B side 2 respectively. And both sides have the words "Precision" and "HUB" in the dead wax. Also this version has just the plain white inner.

When I purchased this many years ago, it was housed in an outer protective plastic sleeve and has been stored in one ever since to maintain a beautiful condition.

From the looks of the conditions of the vinyl and cover, I'm sure the person who received this advance review copy most likely put it aside and stored it and possibly wasn't even played, (until I played it and handled it with extreme caution), then decided to unload it at a used record store for cash....(I bought this somewhere on the road in the 80's when my punk band used to tour the United States, can't remember what city it was though). It really looks like a NM, but I'll conservatively give it an EX+. PS, Because its the original 1983 1st mix, it sounds amazing and very loud and clear....unlike the ruined re-mix version of later days put out. It has been carefully stored in a plastic sleeve to retain its Excellent original condition. The 2 papers do show some wear though and the letter to the editors has a slight stain on the top right of the paper, very minor though....most likely the papers got handled more than the actual record..ha-ha.

Not really wanting to get rid of this DC punk classic, special rare version...(I've never seen another version like it for sale), but just went through a few surgeries and need help financially.

No RESERVE auction, starting at a penny. (I know that's a bit crazy, but want the buyer to determine the price so they feel comfortable with the price)

Will ship worldwide and will most likely need to be insured. (That's why there is a higher than my normal International shipping price)

Check out my other listings and combine shipping, thanks for looking!

PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE BIDDING...
Thanks for all of the interest in this Bad Brains Item....since there is so much interest, I want to be clear on on something, as stated above in the Original listing, so that whoever wins this, is satisfied with their purchase (I know you will be).
... So, as stated in the listing above, these are copies of the original papers that were hand signed one time, then mass produced and sent out with the albums to be reviewed...in other words, the typed letter for instance, does not have a "live" signature on it. The author wrote the letter once, signed it, then the company made copies to send out for review...The same goes for the Handwritten part at the top on the Test Pressing track list Jem Page as well... The 1st Press original promo/test pressing album here alone in this good of condition is valuable, but add the Letters (which i have never seen nor heard of before these), makes it quite the rare find... Just making sure we are all on the same page before you bid on this item....Thanks so much, and good luck in the bid process.
